Cost of Attendance and Net Price Calculator

The calculation of financial aid eligibility begins with a figure known as the "Cost of Attendance" or "COA".  The primary purpose of this figure is to estimate the general costs of all aspects of attending your program of study.  Of course, since these figures are general estimates for all students in a particular program, they are by nature not specific to any individual student.  Hence, these estimates are useful for general planning purposes and for calculation of financial aid eligibility, but should not be treated as precise figures for your specific circumstances.  Your actual expenses, particularly in areas like "Transportation" and "Living Expenses" will almost certainly vary from the estimates provided.

COST OF ATTENDANCE:

The Financial Aid Office establishes estimated student expense budgets (called the Cost of Attendance) which are used to determine financial need and eligibility for financial aid offers.  The COA is established by combining the student’s Direct (Billed) Costs - (Tuition/Fees, Books, Course Materials, Supplies and Equipment) that are billed by the School and Indirect Expenses - (Transportation, Living Expenses, Miscellaneous Personal Expenses, etc.) that are NOT billed by the School.  The costs each student incurs for indirect costs can vary widely.

NET PRICE CALCULATOR:

The Financial Aid Office provides an online Net Price Calculator designed to assist first-time, full-time students with calculating the estimated educational cost for attending Charles and Sue's School of Hair Design.  This format was designed by the U.S. Department of Education and uses a mandated methodology and variables.  Unfortunately, because of the nature of the federal requirements, the data provided by the Net Price Calculator is always from a previous award year.  While this data can give you a general idea of costs and financial aid, the Financial Aid Office can give you a much more accurate estimate using current year costs and financial aid data.
