Other Aid Programs

Sometimes students can benefit from additional funding beyond traditional federal financial aid.  While only a handful of students benefit from these programs each year, it is worth looking into every possibility to fund your education!

AID TO NATIVE AMERICANS:

Resources are available to students who are enrolled members of a federally recognized Indian tribe and certain Alaska natives.  Most programs are based on financial need and the availability of funds.  Eligibility is determined and administered by your tribe and may be awarded in successive years based on satisfactory academic progress. Information and applications are available from the education office of your tribe.

LOCAL AND COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIPS:

There are numerous community programs, fraternal organizations, churches, and other charitable groups that assist students with scholarships and grants to help them pursue their education.   Many students at Charles and Sue's have received scholarships from such entities and organizations.  It may require some work on your part to find these scholarships, but it can be well worth the effort.  Start by speaking with family and friends about whether they have any connections to churches, clubs, or charitable groups that offer scholarships.  The Financial Aid Office will be happy to assist you with any necessary forms or information requested by the scholarship provider.
